Commercial & Retail ActivityAs would be expected in a prosperous industrial community, the Baytown area is alive with thriving businesses. Shopping in Baytown ranges from the quaint little shops and boutiques to one of the largest single-level shopping malls in the Southwest. The 1.5 million square-foot San Jacinto Mall which houses such major stores as Macy's, J. C. Penney, Sears, Marshals, and Palais Royal, employs nearly 2,000 local residents.
